WGS Systems, LLC, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Systems Engineer who will be involved in the development of advanced sensor systems on airborne reconnaissance and surveillance platforms for the United States government. The qualified candidate must be capable of performing system definition, system design, integration and test, and verification and validation of the completed systems. The candidate must also be capable of performing methodical troubleshooting of complex sensor systems including: networked computer subsystems, airborne data links, imagery sensors (electro-optical and infrared), ground moving target and synthetic aperture radars, radio signal collection systems, and other special sensor technologies. The candidate must have experience in the following areas: Expertise in any of the following technical areas: Signals collection and processing, Imagery collection and processing, RF and communications, RADAR, and Systems integration onto collection platforms. System design and interface control, Performance simulation and modeling, Integration, troubleshooting, and system testing, Verification and validation of systems to customer requirements. The responsibilities for this position will include: Requirements management, System design and integration into the platforms avionics systems, Oversight and management of system integration and test activities, Development of test plans and other related system engineering documents, Interfacing with program management, customers, and customer representatives, Developing and presenting requirements, designs, plans, and results to customers and end-users, Supporting troubleshooting and maintenance planning for fielded systems. Qualified candidates must have: BS/MS in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering; mathematics, or physics, United States of America citizenship, Current secret clearance, or the ability to acquire a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance, 6+ years of direct experience in system engineering and development, Strong written and verbal communications skills, Use of design tools such as Visio, OrCAD, AutoCAD, or equivalent. Modeling and simulation in MATLAB is preferred, Ability to work independently, and also within an engineering team of varying disciplines. Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment, in aircraft hangars, and on-board aircraft, Testing will require the candidate to fly on government owned and operated aircraft, A majority of the work will be performed in Hagerstown and Frederick, Maryland, with work in other locations in the greater Baltimore, Maryland/Washington, D.C. area expected, Occasional travel will be required.
