WGS Systems, LLC, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Software Engineer who will be involved in the development of embedded software for signal and image processing in products developed by the company for the United States government. The qualified candidate must be capable of developing efficient software architectures to perform complex signal and image processing. The candidate must also be capable of working in a number of environments from general purpose processors, embedded processors, and system-on-chip (SOC) processors. The candidate must have experience in the following areas: Software design and modeling, Signal or image processing software development. UML, Rational Rose or equivalent, Software development in C/C++, Object oriented design and programming, Performance analysis, modeling, and testing of production code, Interfacing with low-level hardware functions on FGPAs, Development of flexible and powerful APIs to support higher level software system integration, Programming on PowerPC® and Intel®processors. The responsibilities for this position will include: Software system architecture design, Software API design, Modeling in UML or equivalent, Developing company software configuration management processes, Defining company development toolset requirements. Qualified candidates must have: BS/MS in software, computer or electrical engineering, United States of America citizenship, Current secret clearance, or the ability to acquire a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance, 7+ years of experience in embedded software development, Experience in object oriented programming principles, Use of design tools such as Rational Rose or equivalent. Strong written and verbal communications skills, Ability to work independently, and also within an engineering team of varying disciplines. Work environment: Work will be performed in an office or laboratory environment, with some work potentially in aircraft hangars, and on-board aircraft, A majority of the work will be performed in Frederick, Maryland, with work in other locations in the greater Baltimore, Maryland/Washington, D.C. area expected, Occasional travel will be required.
